Professional Indemnity Division
Our Professional Indemnity Division is a market leader in all types of professional indemnity cover, with particular expertise in directors’ and officers’ legal liability and errors and omissions insurances.
The placing of an innovative and competitive programme is central to our service. Once, however, we have placed a policy in the market, our work is really just beginning. We regard an integral part of our service to be the continuing provision of advice to our clients.
Continuous contact can also involve any issue of interest from within the property profession and other professions, both here and overseas. It will involve assisting with loss prevention. We will gladly assist with seminars, circulars, articles etc and happily liaise on a face to face basis with the network of offices.
We have specialist Risk Management firms who assist with ensuring group procedures are assessed on a regular basis and disseminated through departments and networks. A contribution towards the cost for this service is usually met by underwriters within the cost of the policy.
One of the key issues on any Professional Indemnity policy, no matter how well it is placed and no matter how good the underwriters might be, is the proper and efficient handling of notifications to ensure matters are properly notified, that underwriters do not form the wrong view of the practice, and that notifications are handled efficiently and to the benefit of our clients.
We believe in providing the highest possible level of service. We wish to know sufficient about claims and notifications so that we can negotiate positively with underwriters and influence their view, rather than, as tends to happen, simply have the conduct of the particular claim or notification dictated by the view of underwriters.
Our attitude seems to be very well received by underwriters, with whom we have a close working relationship.
A hidden cost of a hard market is often the toughening of the attitude adopted by underwriters in handling notifications.
